First, find a soak that fits your personal needs. Whether you are looking to relax, heal and nourish, or energize your skin, there is always a way to address a mixture of personal needs. We encourage you to add fresh ingredients and essential oils for the most natural approach. We promise this will be beneficial to your skin as well as aesthetically pleasing!
Fruits, herbs, flowers and essential oils are Fabulous! Slice up some lemons, limes, oranges to give your foot spa and energizing effect. You can even try herbs such as green tea, ginger, or turmeric to kick it up a notch! When working with any herb or essential oil be careful of the amount you use and check with your local health care provider to ensure they are safe for you to use. Peppermint, spearmint, lemongrass, and chamomile bring an element of calm to your water with their cooling effects. Add in some Epsom salt, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil, calendula, or rosemary to provide a nourishing/healing effect.
Other great add-in are: Honey, Roses, Hibiscus, or Mint!
After selecting your own combination of ingredients, fill up your foot bath with hot water to bring out the aroma and therapeutic effects. Let the water cool down to your liking before soaking your feet.
Scrub it down!
Out with the Old, In with the New! A foot scrub is an awesome way to exfoliate dry and dead skin from your body. When you are finished soaking up the positive vibes from your luxurious foot bath follow it up with an amazing scrub.
All you need is a few simple ingredients from your kitchen cupboard to make your own beautiful creation. This is a great DIY for yourself or to do with family and friends. The best part about this is the mixing and matching of different ingredients
Once you have your finished making your scrub, and have soaked from at least 10 - 15 minutes, apply the scrub onto your feet and lower legs. Gently work the scrub into your skin in a circular motion, taking care not to rub too vigorously. The goal is to whisk dead skin cell from the epidermis layer of your skin without being too abrasive. Take notice calluses and rough spots. A callus is a build-up of skin caused by constant pressure to said area. The act as a protective coating to the specific area in which they live. Use a pumice stone of foot file to soften calluses and rough spots, take care to not file down too much--this could cause the area to become raw and in turn cause pain. PAIN is NOT the GOAL!
When you are finished scrubbing, rinse your legs and feet with cool water. To ensure that you lock in the moisture, add your favorite oil before drying your skin. Now you can look down and smile, because you’re are Pedi-Ready!
